PNK SLM signees Sleep Eaters unleash new single ‘In This Town’, a slice of hallucinogenic lock ‘n’ roll.
NEW MUSIC | SLEEP EATERS | BRAD SKED
Emerging from the depths of London come cowboy garage-punk marauders Sleep Eaters who have returned with ‘In This Town’ out now via the always incredible PNKSLM.
Produced by longtime collaborator Euen Hinsheldwood, ‘In This Town’ follows up from the Londoners debut EP ‘Holy Days’ with a piece of wonderfully brooding squalid spaghetti-western-esque garage-punk with pigments of country-rock and a desert rock groove.
Sleep Eaters lyrical content centres on the entrapment of the metropolitan surroundings of their home city London, whilst their signature jagged guitar sound splinters on the verge of collapse. The rumination of the claustrophobia encroached with the sun-baked desert rock sonic odyssey, ‘In This Town’ is like being thrown into a tiny saloon in the Old West.
Take fellow London contemporaries Fat White Family and Goat Girl and throw in some Black Lips and a hint of The Doors, and you have the hellacious and disheveled delights of Sleep Eaters who are one of the mightiest bands in the United Kingdom right now.
