Brooklyn duo Toledo define ‘Lovely’ on jangly dream pop single.

Sometimes less is more. ‘Lovely’, the new single by American duo Toledo, conjures devastating emotion through sonic minimalism. It’s the sort of gradual love which builds over repeated listens, the band’s lyrics becoming more and potent as they intertwine with your memories.

Artists such as Real Estate, Beach Fossils and Her’s have jangled their way into the hearts of mass audiences through a pursuit of human connection rather than flashy or soaring choruses. Fuck the FIFA 2020 soundtrack, this is real human emotion.

The Brooklyn duo of Dan and Jordan, aka Toledo, combine beautifully subtle vocal harmonies, driven and interlocking guitar and bass lines with dreamy atmospheric textures on ‘Lovely’. A band to fall for most definitely.
