PREMIERE: The Caress – ‘The Grave’.

London five-piece The Caress return with a quintessentially British pop affair on new single ‘The Grave’, out tomorrow.

You get the impression that romance comes naturally for The Caress. One 4 minute sprinkling of their sugar-sweet 60’s harmonies and sprawling wall of sound guitars on new single ‘The Grave’, will make you well up.

The London quintet trade in quintessentially British pop. ‘The Grave’ holds dear the closeness of 60’s harmonies peppered with rising waves of guitar that folds your focus back into childhood memory.

Though the subject matter may seem dark at first, the band’s lyrical output seems to float back through rose-tinted memory and trips with a loved one, rather than dwell on tombstones and wet graveyard visits in winter.

Flick back through the band’s joyous singles and you’ll find self-depreciating hits like ‘Oh God (I’m Lonesome)’ and ‘Why Don’t We Take A Walk By The Sea’ which echo the back catalogues of greats such as The Cure or The Smiths. But on ‘The Grave’, we witness The Caress in their most exposed and personal state. It’s devastating.

‘The Grave’ is released tomorrow, 06.03.20, ahead of an exciting 2020 for one of London’s most exciting new prospects.
