London newcomers Bleach Lab unveil a haunting slice of dream pop nostalgia on ‘Burnt Orange’.
South London via Buckinghamshire newcomers Bleach Lab have released their second single ‘Burnt Orange’. Their debut release ‘Heartache Of The Season’ arrived in November of last year and opened a door into the band’s touching dream pop world.
Singer Jenna Kyle conjures the spirit of Mazzy Star through her vocal delivery finding romance in the darkened corners of dream pop. ‘Burnt Orange’ floats in nostalgia, jangly guitar lines and atmospheric textures meet euphoric choruses soaked in a youthful gaze.
Jenna mentions, “Lyrically, it was completely inspired by the nostalgic feeling I hold with that time of day when your room glows orange. It directly relates to a photograph from my childhood, which we incorporated into the artwork for the single. It’s about progressing through life into adulthood but always holding onto nostalgic feelings of the past”.
The band were live in session last night for BBC introducing in celebration of the release of ‘Burnt Orange’ and play a headline show at The George Tavern, London on March 11th (event page here).
