Brighton sons GURU reveal the hard-hitting live video for latest single ‘Don’t Talk’.
GURU singer Tommy Cherrill has spoken about how ecstatic the trio were with their single launch show at The Old Blue Last, so happy in fact the band went on to use the recorded footage for their new video.
“It was mostly filmed at the single launch at Old Blue Last” says the frontman, “It was our first proper headline in London so we weren’t quite sure what to expect going into it but the room was packed out from the get go.”
Live, GURU‘s energy is infectious, whatever you may make of the current crop of punk or post-punk band’s taking off, you can include GURU in that select few. A clear sign of the Brighton band’s growing popularity is their ability to draw a London crowd, and a raucous one at that.
“It was such a heart warming experience and turned out to be one of our favourite gigs we’ve ever played” mentions Cherrill, “It was shot (the video for ‘Don’t Talk’) and edited by Stewart Gardiner, whose work we saw from other bands and really liked his style.”
The band’s latest release was ‘Don’t Talk’/ ‘Ltd’, a double sided release exhibiting the band’s knack of writing short, sharp and spikey punk tunes.
