With festival season kicking into gear, we’re setting our sights on another great year at East London Block Party, which this year takes place on Saturday 25th July. Started in 2023, the festival is quickly building its claim to the title of London’s best multi-venue festival, packing an incomparable list of some of the best live acts going into an set of relatively intimate spaces. The whole thing is based around an easily walkable set of Shoreditch’s best venues: Colours, The Old Blue Last, Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes and Strongroom. Already announced are art rock iconoclasts Blue Bendy, recent Hard of Hearing obsessions including wing! and casual smart, plus Truthpaste, Ashnymph, Alphabet and live favourites Canned Pineapple. This week, the festival has doubled its lineup with a fresh bunch of tantalising names.

Leading the list are SILVERWINGKILLER, the electrifying Manchester duo with a truly original and urgent take on electronica which always keeps one eye on the dancefloor. They are joined by unabashed indie hedonists Slumber, the brilliant new Blitzcat signees Bone China and the charming bedroom baroque of Potato. Also added are Dreamwave – whose Oh Sees-tinged take on garage-psych blew us away at our Christmas party gig in December – as well as the atmospheric and anthemic heavy wild, absorbing France-via-London ensemble Huarinami and brooding, guitar-driven quartet Honest Work. Capping it all off is a DJ set from The Horrors’ Faris Badwan to close out the party. With more to be announced, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a tighter batch of bands to condense into a summer’s day in the city.
