LUMER share haunting video for ‘The Sheets’ ahead of 2021 EP ‘Disappearing Act’.

mapping the failings of a society picked apart by politics, fear and division.

The rattling carriages of a runaway ghost train journeys on, forgotten and ready to derail at any given second, it guides us gently through an icy and surreal darkness straight into the abyss. With each passing release LUMER offer further insight into the world that surrounds us, mapping the failings of a society picked apart by politics, fear and division. But at the soul of each individual piece of music lies a power to combat it all. The kind of rage built by understanding and lived experience haunts the poetic delivery of the Hull quartet, instrumentally they seem to harness the current anguish and isolation felt by a population as a whole.

The video for The Sheets tops off a fantastic year of releases by LUMER. Their patient and deliberated rise within the UK’s alternative scene since their formation in 2016 has been a true joy to watch, if this year in music has taught us anything it’s the value of such bands as LUMER to our bubble of life. Vocalist Alex Evans comments on The Sheets, “The entire writing process felt incredibly easy. It takes, whoever can be bothered to listen, down a bitter road of different experiences and what we despise in the world. It talks of love, hate, hope and death, and ultimately the personal things that affects the majority of people’s lives.”

New EP, Disappearing Act arrives January 29th 2021. Find LUMER on Spotify here.
