It hits hard and acts fast, it’s ‘Suntrap’, the storming second single from Brighton four-piece GURU.

Following last year’s explosive debut Consumer Helpline, Brighton’s GURU have made a noisy return with the equally raucous Suntrap.
The latest offering sees GURU further solidify their own brand of unrelenting, pounding punk. Strained, raspy vocals, brooding basslines and guitars that slice through it all with a deliberate ferocity, the track’s musicality acts as a fitting backdrop to its lyrics. Focussing on social inequality, Suntrap is driven – musically and lyrically – by a sense of urgency. GURU have a story to tell, messages to get across, and we’re going to listen; in part, because the sheer power of the track leaves you with little other choice, and in part because, despite its punkish aggression, there’s something extremely catchy about Suntrap.
Where others struggle to break through the saturation, in just two tracks, GURU have marked their spot at the forefront of Brighton’s new music scene, and we’re looking forward to seeing more from them.
Suntrap is out now.
