Permanent Creeps-signees Human Pet delve deeper into an angular world of high-octane alt-rock.
With one foot on the dancefloor of grungy mid-noughties indie-rock, and the other in a forward-thinking post-punk dive bar, Human Pet cut a fearsome figure on II to Infinity.
The band’s second single arrives via London imprint Permanent Creeps Records, and has recently taken the band on a UK/EU tour with one of the most promising alternative prospects in England, motorik post-punk four-piece Cannibal Animal.
Previous release Linda Pinky pointed towards a band honing their songwriting craft, with inklings of melody buried in amongst the laser-sharp guitars and reverb-soaked vocals. It’s three minutes and sixteen seconds of raw power. II to Infinity retains the impulsive, tight-knit and sharp song structure the band are known for, but this time tears at the seams of indie-rock and pushes the listener into a seasick, stop-start vision of sweaty dancefloor-ready alt-rock.
Human Pet support Cambridge five-piece and new Holm Front-signees Ugly, at The Old Blue Last, London tonight November 10th. Free entry. Gig info here.
