Brisbane’s scuzzy punk four-piece The Gametes release mind warping stop-motion animation video for ‘The Man of Thumbs’.
The Man of Thumbs is the latest release from Australian ramshackle punk-edged four piece The Gametes. The track comes complete with an incredible horror flick/ stop-motion video displaying a businessman sweating his way through a boardroom meeting with one eye on a donut and the other on the swirling mess his life has become. The result, as you will see above, is a man being devoured by his own choices and surroundings.
The track itself, under 2 minutes in length, is a steaming slice of ramshackle punk. Full of energy and lightning paced social commentary, The Gametes play with riotous, sharp-edged guitars and a rolling, thunderous enthusiasm for the strange. The band have an intergalactic groove which is impossible to ignore, see previous releases Star Surfer IX or the RIP Records introduces single Stuck in a Turnstile with its slow burning Parquet Courts-esque brilliance.
The Gametes have a debut record in the pipeline set for release later this year through Brisbane’s Coolin’ By Sound Records.
