BURN / BLEED is the 6 minute introduction to the Hull bands’ upcoming EP Blood on Suits due June 15th via Hidden Bay Records.

The frenetic and scornful brand of post-punk that makes up BURN / BLEED is set to a sprawling industrial backdrop of sound, more a haunting trip through time and history than a single for the sake of release. The band’s remarkable ability to shift between lighter and darker moods is evident here as the track builds and shifts at will whilst the song’s theme stays constant and emotionally hard-hitting.

The thick, driving basslines and pounding drums underpin the tracks forceful energy and are at full capacity throughout. Shimmering guitarwork cocoons the track with a subtle warmth whilst not afraid to be the sharp point of contact as the track develops and haunts the listener to the point of emotional break. Alex Evans’ vocal rumbles through a story of modern decay, a story of disillusioned youth, the detached interior monologue that many will immediately relate to. In the forever swelling pool of upcoming post-punk bands, few have something so emotionally tangible to give, LUMER strike hard and strike true.

Their EP Blood on Suits drops June 15th with a show at The Shacklewell Arms, London  on the 22nd, surely a reason to buy a diary.
