LUCIA – ‘Melted Ice Cream’ – Venomously bittersweet garage pop from Glasgow

In April of last year Glasgow’s LUCIA released their debut EP named Best Boy through Glasgow’s Dead Beet RecordsThe release is jam packed with scuzzy garage pop numbers which have enough rough-edged, hard-hitting guitar and lyrical punch to mosh to, yet the perfect amount of bubblegum pop hooks and catchy choruses to be quite the complete release.

Melted Ice Cream, released 12th of Feb with Sweet Jane Recordings, and the follow up to their acclaimed debut, see’s LUCIA step directly into the spotlight with the sort of lyrically lovestruck garage pop that has propelled The Big Moon, fellow Glaswegians Honeyblood and Black Honey to dizzy-indie heights. The balance between a raw garage rock sound, venomously bittersweet vocals and a skill for writing gigantic festival-ready choruses make the band quite the live prospect for 2018.

The Glasgow four-piece will be stopping by Camden Assembly to support hyped London quintet Milk Disco (Read more about Milk Disco) for what will be their third live show in the capital following last weeks ferocious headline show at The Old Blue Last.
