Peckham lot Peeping Drexels recall the ramshackle guitar work of Atlanta duo Black Lips with a rock ‘n’ roll rework of the The Velvet Underground, their recent single hinges on a highly charged raw rock backbone which only youth can provide. On recent release ‘The Goof’ produced by Jason Playford, the bands sound bleeds through the same vein as some of the best raw punk rock bands to grace small stages throughout the UK in 2017. Peeping Drexels have a carefully careless rock sensibility with all of the energy and a knack for a belting rock song as do contemporaries The Blinders, King Nun and the now sadly defunct Dead Pretties.
The band are the first to join the new Permanent Creeps label/ management arm, a natural progression for the live music curators who have seen the likes of Fat White Family, Vulgarians, Gang, God Damn, YOWL and Claw Marks amongst other excellent live bands grace their stages in recent time.
