As their name suggests, The Love Company only have one thing on their mind: L-O-V-E. Certainly, the concept of ‘love’ is the primary concern of 99% of pop songs but the London five-piece create a mood that is both gorgeous and playful. In short, it’s pure aural flirtation.
Existing within the same sonic territory as fellow odd-pop savants Ariel Pink and Connan Mockasin, ‘Heaven is A Place I Call Your Arms’ is a sumptuous piece of ultra sexy and somnambulistic bedroom pop, all woozy synths and pillow talk vocals. The accompanying music video also somehow manages to turn the mundane act of supermarket shopping into something vaguely erotic- especially for those who fetishise cereal. By the closing frames of ‘Heaven Is A Place I Call Your Arms’, you’ll be wishing you were looked at in the same way as sleepy-eyed singer/guitarist Ryan stares seductively at a box of Frosties.
