SON Estrella Galicia brought their second edition of Spanish nightlife to London in celebration of their partnership with cult Hackney venue Paper Dress Vintage.

Though the winter season seems to have set in hard in London, nothing could dampen the spirits at East London gem Paper Dress Vintage as post-punk hotshots DEADLETTER played an intimate set with support from Spanish indie outfit Melenas. DJ sets came from Jordan Cook & Oli Paget-Moon (Telegram) and Sophie Landers (Black Doldrums/ Fuzz Records).
In line with Estrella Galicia´s efforts towards sustainability, the event featured several interactive elements embodying the Reduce, Re-use and Recycle mantra. Attendees were encouraged to bring along old records, CDs and cassettes and trade them in for limited edition, 100% recycled merchandise. DJs then delivered a session cherry-picking from these old records before they were recycled after the event.
In the second of the series of collaborations between SON Estrella Galicia and Paper Dress Vintage – an ongoing cultural exchange intent on bringing Spanish beer culture and musical talent from the UK and Spain together – we witnessed a new way of thinking and a future-facing gig environment. We can’t wait wait for the third edition – keep your eyes peeled.
