Norwich quartet Floral Image are back with their third single of the summer, the track is entitled ‘El Topo’ (‘The Mole’ in English) and named after the 70’s Mexican acid Western film written, scored, directed by and starring Alejandro Jodorowsky.

‘El Topo’ is underpinned by a journeying drum sound, a relentless gallop into the dusty sands of desert rock and misty psychedelia. Guitars act like ripples of water, cascading in slow motion through the track as time and space become one.

The true beauty in the song’s 9:45mins length is its dynamics and escapist feel, sometimes it feels like a solitary walk alone, in other parts like you’re riding wave of unstoppable energy – Floral Image know when to shift gear and push the tempo, though remain unafraid to slam on the breaks.

The recording was captured at the St Martin-at-Oak church, Norwich.
