Squealing synths, surrealist storytelling and days of potato-related content on social media in the lead up – what else could it have been apart from the return of The Cool Greenhouse? New single ‘Hard Rock Potato’ is out today, it arrives with the announcement that the London five-piece will return with their sophomore album ‘Sod’s Toastie’ in November.

“It’s not gambling if you’re wearing a tie, even if you’ve got no trousers on,” quips vocalist Tom Greenhouse on ‘Hard Rock Potato,’ the track swipes playfully at the financial industry – a strangely fitting lyrical backdrop to the band’s off-kilter post-punk strut.
