Sinead O’Brien shares ‘There Are Good Times Coming’ ahead of debut album.

Words: Karl Johnson | Chloé le Drezen

Sinead O’Brien has returned with ‘There Are Good Times Coming’, the third single to be taken from the Dublin artists’ upcoming debut album ‘Time Bend and Break The Bower’, which arrives June 10th via Chess Club Records. The dark and unsettling music video continues O’Brien’s series of visuals made in collaboration with director Chloé le Drezen.

On the feeling of the new release, O’Brien states, “There are moments where the music is sparse and the lyrics hang around a while. It’s a strange space, warmth and coolness in the air. Full moon, dogs barking in the distance and an empty railway station. ‘There Are Good Times Coming’ is not a dream, it’s a restless night.”

The cutting guitar sound and unabating drums bring an addictive momentum and drive to the track, paving the way for O’Brien’s poetic and intricate vocal delivery to shimmer and the snake through the mix. Off-kilter and bringing a razor-sharp lyrical tongue to ‘There Are Good Times Coming’, O’Brien’s vocal presence is an engaging centrepiece, oozing positive energy and a spiritual edge to the backbone of heavy-hitting art-led alternative rock.
