Socially-distanced gigs have been a lifeline for so many, a way for music communities to re-engage with each other and a place for artists to reconnect with their audiences after so long. Music Venue Trust and the charity fundraisers that have run beside them have provided the financial glue for the survival of most venues – but as restrictions put on full capacity events were not lifted as scheduled last month, the future once again looked a scary place.
Enter forth London promoters Egyptian Elbows, who offer up a rebirth for live music in the form of 00:01 Festival. The East London hub of Oval Space will offer two stages between it’s Oval and Pickle Factory venues, which will host six live band sets and multiple DJ sets over 5 hours, starting at one minute after midnight on Monday July 19th (actually the Sunday night).
The headliner will be psych explorers Flamingods joined by Crows and Talk Show on the main stage while Grove, Duress and Fake Turins make up the emerging talent stage, guest DJ sets come from DJ Betamax (The Comet Is Coming), DJ L.E.D (Goat Girl) and Lynks. Find your ticket here.
