It’s punk, it’s jazz, it’s dangerous, and live it’s fucking unbeatable.

Nervous Conditions play hard hitting, beautifully executed, tense jazz with spacious post-punk/ psychedelic leanings. They are not a band easily pigeonholed. You’d be forgiven for thinking that with 8 musicians playing at times, all at once, the bands sound and vision could be washed out or lost, this is not the case. Complete with two drummers, bassist, synth player, saxophonist, guitarist, violinist and vocalist, the bands greatest strength is in part it’s minimalism, and then in contrast perfect sonic mayhem.

Village Mentality‘ is a perfect example of the Cambridgeshire 8-piece in all its glory, a menacing psych-focused bass line is joined by screeching strings and a haunted sax, as the song progresses a whirlpool of raging instruments threaten to engulf one another before falling to a perfect finish over four and a half minutes. Holding on tightly to the reigns, the bands frontman/ guitarist picks his moments exquisitely to deliver a spoken word vs aggressive Mark E Smith-esque performance to compliment a band working in perfect synergy.

Nervous Conditions have recently  supported Brooklyn’s own Beach Fossils on their European tour and have played London support shows at MOTH Club with TRAAMS and Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club with Tonstartssbandht before  headlining the Sebright Arms, London yesterday 11/11/17.
