Green Man’s day splits are here! With summer now indelibly in full swing, our minds are turning ever more often to this highlight of the festival season. With a packed lineup and an unparalleled backdrop, nestled as it is in the Brecon Beacons, this is set to be an amazing year for Green Man festival.

This week, the festival have announced their day splits, which means you can start plotting out a route through the weekend. Sparks or Wolf Alice to close Sunday night? Hold on to a good spot at the Mountain for the incredible run of Shame, Dry Cleaning, Aldous Harding and Wilco, or dart out to catch Getdown Services, Prostitute and Baxter Dury in between? Thankfully, Green Man is well-sized for darting between stages, and with a crowd of music lovers who will mostly be doing the same, you’re usually assured of a good spot at your most important sets.

As the lineup comes into focus, its incredible depth of this lineup becomes obvious. Mogwai headline the opening night alongside other highlights including Lime Garden, CVC, Art School Girlfriend and Tai Haf Heb Drigolyn. Wilco lead the bill on Friday, topping a brilliant Mountain Stage bill which also features Ata Kak and Westside Cowboy. There’s also must-see sets coming from Baxter Dury, The New Eves, My New Band Believe and Modern Woman.

Each headline offers something different this year. Four Tet take to the Mountain Stage on Saturday, following essential viewing courtesy of Cate le Bon and Ana Frango Eléctrico. Elsewhere, you can catch Mannequin Pussy and Daniel Avery in the Far Out tent, while Sorry headline the Walled Garden, plus the Rising Stage playing host to Bathing Suits, Casual Smart and Big Long Sun. Then on Sunday, there’s the overlapping sets from Wolf Alice and Sparks, as well as Cat Power, Dove Ellis, Fcukers and Wednesday. We’ll also be keen to catch Tara Clerkin Trio, The Cindys and a late-night set from Roni Size.

The day splits came with the extra bonus of a host of new names added to the bill. Among these are Green Man Rising winners Tall Child, who open the Mountain Stage on the Friday, alongside fellow finalists The Slow Country, Kiosk, Glasshouse Red Spider Mite and Cyn Cwsg. There’s also sets to look out for at the Chai Wallahs stage from Opus Kink, Pigeon Y and Karma Sheen.

We’ll be back with more detailed previews a bit closer to the time, but for now, full lineup info and resale tickets (the festival sold out long ago) can be found at https://www.greenman.net/tickets/
