Indie hotshots Living Island release touching new cut ‘Concrete’ ahead of their London headline show.
With band members spread between Brighton and London, Living Island’s sound could be divided between the calming influence of the ocean and the toxic rat race of a major capital city. The fact is, the band harness both calm and feelings of anxiety within their music.
‘Concrete’, the indie quintet’s latest release, is another superb example of the underlying power their shared vocals have on their music. The track opens with a relaxed and thoughtful passage of future thinking, representing our habit as humans of moving forward with one foot stuck in the past with memories unresolved.
The delicate and heart-warming vocal harmonies that swim beneath ‘Concrete’ are somewhat healing as flourishes of guitar and bass float alongside aiding the song’s euphoric rise to fruition.
Living Island play a release show at community-run warehouse space SET in Dalston this coming Saturday (04.01.20), tickets can be found here. Support comes from Ellie Bleach, Honeyglaze and Ella Bleakley.
