NEW MUSIC: Weird Milk – ‘Time Machine’.

Weird Milk reflect on lost time and science through the intoxicating groove of ‘Time Machine’.

North London outfit Weird Milk have returned with a new single entitled ‘Time Machine’, released on Austin-based label Big Indie (Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Childcare).

Soaring vocal harmonies, crunching guitars and swift atmospheric changes underpin the band’s intoxicating new effort. The new track finds the the quintet reflecting on the idea of lost time through a rhythmic thud that echos purist 60’s grooves and devastating vocal harmonies.

Piercing direction changes and keys that cut the air like ice all build towards a euphoric sound, as the band continue to provide an alternative to the current state of band-led pop music.

Songwriter and drummer Charlie Glover-Wright explains, “Time Machine came from a brief obsession with the documentary Cosmos. I became fascinated with the scientists and how they had the determination and will to invent and create things that no-one else had ever even considered were possible. So we had a conversation about how you’d go about trying to make a time machine. You’d read lots of books by the leading scientists in the field and then you’d study for a long time and then you’d give it a go. The world’s a scary place right now so we thought about getting the heck outta here – just for a little while”.

Expect a huge year for Weird Milk in 2020, with their debut EP, showcases at Brighton’s The Great Escape and Austin’s SXSW festivals being just the tip of the rose-tinted pop iceberg.
