Bathtime Sounds have announced details of an inspiring one-off event in support of people in Gaza and Sudan has just been announced, which takes place at London’s beautiful EartH theatre on 28th March. Six of London’s most exciting musical acts are set to grace the Dalston venue with all proceeds going towards War Child’s efforts in those places as they support children and their families and help communities to rebuild.

Entitled ‘EartH to Earth’, the event’s stellar line-up has been put together by Bathtime Sounds (the promotional vehicle of Rachid Fakhre, aka Skydaddy) and is the latest of its esteemed fundraising events across London and beyond.

Heading up the evening will be the heavyweight one-two of Ugly and mary in the junkyard. Released last year, Ugly’s debut EP ‘Twice Around The Sun’ received plaudits from across the music world thanks to its exhilarating songwriting and irresistible hooks. The six-piece set their stall out with a driving rhythm section holding down grooves from which the band are known to burst into dazzling harmony. Very different but no less impactful, mary in the junkyard bring breathy croons and ghostly-smooth instrumentation that lulls and splinters in its own distinct way. The band are on an outstanding run of singles and, fresh off the back of an American tour supporting Wet Leg, they are set to blow the roof off EartH next month.

Blue Bendy by Jason Sheehan

Aga Ujma brings a vast array of influences and textures together on stage, her music characterised by East Indonesian zithers, harps and xylophones. She is at once a scholar of traditional music styles from across the globe and an astounding performer. Also joining are the sparklingly oblique art-rockers Blue Bendy. With an ambitious debut album chock-full of ideas under their belt, the band are known for droll combinations of wry non-sequiturs and sparkling pop songwriting that invariably draws you in. Fakhre will also be performing with his musical project, Skydaddy, bringing a swooning display of woodwind and strings to embellish his vintage AM pop. Completing the bill is a Black Country, New Road DJ set next door at EartH Kitchen, concluding what will be an incredible evening of music.
