Always a highlight of the festival season, Green Man brings together a brilliant and eclectic set of artists against an unbeatable backdrop in the Brecon Beacons. While we eagerly await the first full lineup drop, we have our first taste of the 2025 bill, with the first names playing at the festival’s launch party at The Lexington in London on 28th February.

The three performers bring together a great mix of what the festival does best. Headlining is Gwenno, one of the most vital exports of the Welsh music scene in the past ten years. Her unique brand of crackling, analogue electronica is weird and danceable and, appropriately, centres around the Welsh (and also Cornish) language. She is joined by Silver Gore, a pick representative of the festival’s commitment to showcasing the best new bands in Britain. The duo comprised of Ava Gore and Ethan P. Flynn make a brilliant pairing, channelling idioms of 90s indie and modern electronica in equal measure while maintaining a through line of their own unique ideas.

We are also excited and intrigued to see that Broadside Hacks’ Bob Dylan tribute will be making a return after its successful debut with what we thought would be a one-off event this month at MOTH Club. The show featured members of Brown Horse and The New Eves as well as Kitty Fitz, Spitzer SpaceTelescope and Clara Mann, and we can only hope that some of these artists will also be appearing under their own names at this year’s festival as well. Following the immensely successful festival export of Dancing Barefoot’s Byrnes Night to the festival last year, we are excited to see how this tribute compares in the festival setting. In the meantime, roll on The Lexington on the 28th!
