With headlines from Sampha, Big Thief, Jon Hopkins and Sleaford Mods and plenty to accompany that, the call of the Brecon Beacons is strong this year.

Perhaps the most exciting feature of St. David’s Day for music lovers is the annual Green Man lineup announcement, which has become a regular feature over recent years. The festival is a favourite among fans and artists (as we discovered in Kitty Fitz’ diary from last year’s festival), a result of its scene-defining lineup and unparalleled setting, and this year they have set out their stall for an incredibly fun few days in the Brecon Beacons with a non-stop stream of great bands scheduled in.
The headliners are a perfect microcosm of the festival’s eclecticism: Big Thief, Jon Hopkins, Sampha and Sleaford Mods. The Jesus & Mary Chain are the big heritage act for the weekend, joined by a who’s who of alternative favourites from the past decade: Black Country New Road, Fat White Family, This is the Kit, Osees, Tinariwen and Mount Kimbie being just a few.
Joining these are some of Britain’s top new artists, including Lynks, a favourite of the festival, Tapir!, Brown Horse, Blue Bendy, and Green Man debutants Opus Kink and The New Eves. This is a rich lineup from top to bottom, making the case that Green Man could be the essential music festival of this summer.
