A look ahead to two days of must-see new live acts.

This Bank Holiday weekend, we’ve teamed up with Blitzcat Records to put together a two-day showcase of new artists at the Sebright Arms. Here’s a run down of who we’ve picked and why.
Friday
BUKKY
Bringing psychedelic, energetic riffs, RnB infused vocals, raw and lo-fi at the core, BUKKY creates their own variety. This isn’t the first Blitzcat-related outing for the singer-songwriter, who simply wowed at the Wax The Cat all-dayer last July.
Incorporating synthesizers, hypnotic drums and expressive melodies, each track is carefully assembled with unique textures and soundscapes. Check out the scintillating Location 419, which is at once introspective and irresistibly groovy.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw
This experimental collective is creating a fresh signature sound. Hot off a big support at the 100 Club for Thus Love, the six-piece make music that can only be described as brash and brassy, mixing humour with skilful musicianship and feverish energy.
ebbb
What can one say about this trio? Arguably the hottest new band on the underground scene right now. Comprised of Kyoto Kyoto, Enter Laughing and For Breakfast band members, the only description I’ve got scribbled here is ‘when pop and folk vocals meet gabber beats. Make sure to ask for earplugs at the bar.’
catbandcat
The Manchester-based, genre-bending outfit bring a mixture of psychedelia, rock, acoustic, ambient, folk and electronic music to their live shows. This blend has seen them rapidly rise through the ranks of a vibrant Mancunian scene, with many here in London taking note. Central to their power is an multifaceted, energetic and hypnotic live presence. Sebright best get its dancing shoes on.
The night will be followed by the official All Points East After-Party with DJ sets from DEADLETTER, HighSchool and Stolen Nova.
Saturday
The Queen’s Head – For those unacquainted with the Saturday headliner and their brand of esoteric eclectic pop, The Queen’s Head are a five piece from South London making alternative music about modern anxieties. Blending elements of post-punk, noise-rock, disco and modern dance music, wrapped in a familiar verse-chorus pop structure, Queen’s Head emit an enchanting yet terrifying live sound.
Crimewave
Put simply, we are crazy about Crimewave. The Manchester outfit Crimewave (brainchild of instrumentalist Jake Wilson) has crafted a singular take on shoegaze and electronic music, tearing down the genres’ walls of sound and reimagining them into something dark and futuristic. Since signing to Black Acre, singles like ‘Disposable’ have gotten the sunlight they deserve. This is not to be missed.
Borough Council
Formed by brothers Haydn and Joe Ackerley and their long-time friend, Tom Healey, Hastings-based Borough Council, have developed a cult local live following for their murky brand of dark wave. Much is expected of Speedy’s newest signees, and by god they are delivering.
Red Ivory
We caught this band at a Bad Vibrations event when they opened for Kyoto Kyoto and Public Body. An all girl-punk band, they roll back the decades with sumptuous energy. With influences ranging from The Cardigans and Mazzy Star, to Elastica and PJ Harvey, Red Ivory are a burst of energetic fury burning bright in south-east London.

The climax of the Saturday night will be provided by Row and Elvis of Mandrake Handshake spinning the decks upstairs into the night.
Limited tickets still available for the Night Claws Weekender can be bought HERE.
