The Dublin band continue their explosive rise with the announcement of their debut EP and a UK tour in 2021.

If you’ve heard even a snippet of their quick-witted yet socially-conscious lyricism that cuts through a razor-sharp noise, you’ll understand why Sprints are one of the success stories of lockdown. The Irish band’s new release represents the third and final single from their upcoming debut EP – produced by Girl Band‘s Daniel Fox – and they’ve got dates in the diary to tour the UK.
On Swimming the band’s focus turns closer to home with the use of public funds and the government’s unwillingness to address the integral issues that face us everyday when walking our cities streets. Vocalist Karla Chubb explains, “While the homeless crisis worsens, the city is sinking in debt and everyone can barely keep their heads above water, you see an article stating that a new €25 million white water rafting centre is being developed after approval by Dublin City Council. Sometimes you’d just rather drown.”
Sprints are no stranger to an explosive chorus as instrumentally they threaten to implode at any second through sheer ferocity. Unyielding drums and a buzz saw-esque guitar sound rattles through the track and provides an ear-splitting springboard for Karla Clubb’s delivery to launch itself off. Swimming follows on from previous singles Drones that addressed imposter syndrome and Manifesto which attacked homophobia.
The band will hit the road later this year with 17 dates around the UK and Ireland, stopping at London’s The Waiting Room on Oct 21st. Find the band on Spotify here.
